Yesterday, after a late night chat at Baba's, our Matthew brought the wonderful Matthew Barber to the cafe to play a cozy upstairs show. The ampersand extended family and others who luckily wandered in off the street assembled upstairs on the old lady couch and on the floor to hear him.

Matthew sat in front of us, played his guitar and sang; pulling our heartstrings maybe even more than Daniel Ledwell did. I asked him to play Settle My Accounts, which he did, and my friend MC took a video of it...I'll post it soon, i promise!

Today there's been lots of coffee and tea with friends on the front step, it's a nice way to spend a quiet sunday.


I'll leave you with some words to live by from Gabe:

Today I am making my first post.
Today I recieved a copy of the new David Sedaris book When You Are Engulfed in Flames in the post, signed with love just for me.
Today I had cafe affogato (you should probably come and taste how yummy they are).
Today I was the top of a pyramid and made crazy faces and flailed my arms.
Today I feel pretty happy about things.

Tomorrow will be even better!
